Day One, Let’s Go!
Hey everyone! Colleen here! Let me start by saying that we have safely made it to the hotel in Cartagena about 20 hours after you last saw us. 
Today has been a long day. After saying goodbye to friends and family, we became the most stylish group in the airport, united by our fabulous yellow shirts. It was really cool to see everyone adjustment to being so tired and filled with excitement and some nerves. Let’s just say that some of the sleeping positions I saw were quite impressive.
I could sense the growing excitement as the day went on. When we landed in Cartagena and took our first steps outside, it really clicked. Here we are. The bus ride to the hotel was relatively quiet (with some lovely music from our choir) as everyone took in the city. As a returning participant to Colombia, I was filled with joy and excitement as each turn brought back memories. This is a great group and I am so excited to learn and experience all of this with them!
