We did a lot of fun things including playing chess, finding shells, and swimming. I talked to Elexa a lot (about being vegetarian, the environment, playing, etc…) and Elizabeth complimented me hardcore. She said that I stood out in the group and was confident and great and stuff. I also climbed a coconut tree, and has a good quiet time of the beach. Some pigs got their balls ripped off not that far from us, which was my definite low. It was a birthday party as well, for Aiden, Elexa and Sarah. There was cake and rice for lunch. On the 14th of March, we got up at 7:05 (as usual) and did construction, not only in the morning, but for part of the afternoon as well. Mostly making concrete to fill those holes we made. We would be told- “5 sand 7 rock!” by John and bring that number of buckets to the “mixing station.” Then we would mix the sand and the concrete mix, the water with the mix of sand and concrete and put them in the holes we dug. It was a big ordeal, and was tiring, especially after lunch, but we had watermelon halfway through for energy so we were fine.
I’m not so good at shovelling- not only did my finger hurt but the concrete is HEAVY. Caleb was really good at it though. I was slightly offended when John tried to take my shovel and give it to Caleb, but I understood. He was a lot better at it than me. At 4:00 we played games with the kids, including octopus (though the kids thought we were saying “autobus”)
I played chess with Aiden and Gord in the evening (and won two out of three games) with some of the locals watching- trying to figure out the rules, I think.
Went to bed after reflecting, and has a very deep sleep, dreaming the whole time. It was a great day!
